El Pozo Alimentación-Grupo Fuertes is among the hundred most responsible companies in terms of ESG (Environment, Society and Corporate Governance) for the year 2024, according to the Merco ranking. The holding company, led by the food company, is in 34th place, which is a great improvement on the previous year, when it was in 68th place. By sector, the organisation is among the top ten most responsible food companies (6th place).
Merco’s study was based on a detailed analysis of more than 63,000 surveys of various stakeholder groups. Merco Responsabilidad ESG has benefited from the participation of 1,195 executives, 71 CSR experts, 100 financial analysts, 77 business and society journalists, 117 members of government, 120 NGO leaders, 78 trade union leaders, 65 consumer association leaders, 92 Social Media Managers, 400 SME leaders, and 9,257 citizens.

Merco, which celebrates its 25th anniversary this year, has been developing this specific study for fourteen years on the ESG concept, which integrates the environment, society and corporate governance, grouping together the most relevant non-financial factors of a company.
