El Pozo Alimentación, as part of its plan of support to sport, is backing one of the most important sporting events in the world

El Pozo Alimentación has got behind sport once again by becoming the main sponsor of the Huelva 2021 Badminton World Championships, an exciting and motivating project, among the most important internationally, and one which will act as an economic catalyst in the region over the coming years.

Four main events are included in the Badminton World Championships, to be held in Spain for the third time: The “World Tour Huelva Spain Master”, “The Absolute World Championship”, the “Senior World Championship” and the “Junior World Championship”. This is a global event which, over the course of the different competition dates, will bring together more than 30,000 attendees and 650 sportspeople of 35 different nationalities. It will reach 614 million homes all over the world via the different multimedia platforms and the broadcasting of the event on 21 television channels. In our country, the event will be seen or attended a total of 55 million times.

Spanish badminton is in great health, with more than 180,000 players including the 450 schools where it forms part of the primary and secondary curricular programme. Thanks to this, and reflecting the success of the World Champion Carolina Marín, the sport has been growing an average of 20% over the last 3 years, with almost 9,500 licences and more than a million and a half followers in Spain.

The food company has decided to become the face of this world championship, meaning that its brand will be present at all the activities taking place over the upcoming months. It will also contribute by providing food from its wide range of solutions so they can be tasted throughout the tournament which will take place in the Carolina Marín Sports Arena.
