eLPOZO and its stockbreeders comply with this protocol under registration number 001 and with the seal, the most demanding EU standard in this area, they reinforce their strict fulfilment of the food safety and animal welfare standards that they are developing to complement existing quality and safety protocols.
Consumers will be introduced to a common image awarded to meats and meat products with the highest animal welfare requirements throughout the production chain. The company undertakes to comply with the Interporc Animal Welfare Spain (IAWS) Technical Regulations on Animal Welfare through this seal that groups all meat inter-professional associations (Interporc, Asici, Provacuno, Interovic, Intercun and Propollo).
The Regulations, which are among the most demanding in the world, were elaborated in collaboration with companies of the sector, certification authorities, scientists and animal welfare experts. They are endorsed by a high-level scientific committee and have been tested by organisations for the protection and defence of animals.
This is a pioneering initiative on a world level, and it reflects the commitment of the Spanish livestock sector to animal welfare, which is an area in which it is a global leader since it has the most advanced standards in the world.
